The Pain Stays, The Waste Goes

A year ago, I did something wild—I stepped into a boxing ring for charity. It was one of the craziest but most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. Not only did I hold my own in the fight, but I also raised over £500 for a good cause. That challenge lit a spark in me, pushing me to seek out meaningful ways to give back. And now, I’m taking on something new—something close to my heart.

A Personal Mission

I’ve come to embrace challenges, especially when they benefit others. This time, my motivation is deeply personal. I lost my grandmother—someone I was incredibly close to—and the pain still lingers. She battled Cirrhosis, and I witnessed her struggle firsthand. It’s in her honor that I’m raising money for Barnsley Hospice, a place that helps families like mine navigate difficult times.

To make this fundraising effort even more impactful, I’ve added a community-focused twist: for every £150 milestone reached (£300, £450, £700, £850, £1000…), I’ll be out picking litter around Barnsley. It’s my way of giving back twice—supporting those in need through Barnsley Hospice while also making our town a little cleaner. And for those curious about what odd treasures one might find while tidying up the streets, I’ll be sharing the most unusual items I come across.

Progress So Far

At this moment, I’m inching closer to the £600 milestone—already surpassing last year’s total! The journey has been inspiring, and I’ve documented my first milestone, with plans to record both the £300 and £450 milestones soon. Until those are ready, you can check out my first session to see the progress in action.
